Email Nurture Academy

Attract Exceptional Clients Automatically – with Email

Everything you need to create emails that build relationships and
bring in customers – even if you never know what to write.

Email marketing has been on your list of things to sort out FOREVER.

You get that you need it – and that it can take your business from “Where on earth do I find customers?” to growing a community of subscribers who LOVE what you do. And also BUY what you do.

You’re just not quite there yet.

$

You have a list, but you feel like you’ve been neglecting them.

$

Or you’re close to having a list – you just haven’t quite made it happen.

$

Maybe you’ve pivoted your business and you’re not even sure your current list would want what you’re selling now.

$

Or maybe it’s been a while since you last emailed, and you’re worried they don’t remember who you are.

Then there’s the not-so-small matter of how people are
getting onto your list?

You know you need the right lead magnet and a fabulous welcome sequence and those consistent, ongoing emails – but it feels like there’s A LOT to get done

And you don’t want to create something that’s just “fluff”.
You want a lead magnet that’s a bit more meaty. Something that will actually make a difference, rather than slowly sink to the bottom of their downloads folder.

Maybe you just don’t have things set up the way you want.

Either there’s no lead magnet, or you don’t like the one you have. And what’s worse… after people subscribe there’s no carefully crafted welcome sequence. They disappear into a black hole until you next get round to emailing.

Now you may think to yourself that you are emailing them when you have discounts and that big blowout sale…

…Well, I hate to break it to you but that’s not a recipe for building a strong relationship with your subscribers.

Having said that, I understand. It is tricky if you don’t know WHAT to write in your emails.

So, what should you write in your emails?

First up… there’s your welcome emails. Those introductory emails that bridge the gap between your lead magnet and your regular emails. What should you put in THOSE emails?

Should you give them your life story? You don’t want to send them navel-gazing “me me me” content. But you should probably tell them a bit about your business? Shouldn’t you? And do you try and sell them something right after they grabbed your lead magnet? Or is that too soon?

So many decisions to be made. And there are no definitive answers on the interwebs!

Even if you did get all of that in place, there’s still the issue of what on earth to write in your emails, week after week? (Should you even send emails weekly, or is that too often?)

All of this is an absolute nightmare for anyone even slightly prone to overthinking!

And the downside is that all the time you’re putting off getting these email list foundations in place, you’re missing out on bringing more of your ideal customers into your business.

And when I say ideal customers, I mean the ones who are a joy to work with or sell to. The ones who buy into what you do. Who get it. The ones who write you fabulous testimonials and rave about you to anyone who’ll listen.

IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT THE MONEY

If you’re not attracting customers through email, it’s not just about the cash you’re missing out on, though that would be nice!

You’re missing out on creating a community that you love writing to. A community that’s yours to be in touch with whenever you like, no matter what the algorithms are up to.

Imagine feeling good about sitting down to write to your email list, because you know you’ll get chatty replies, you’ll get interaction (clicks!), and you’ll get that warm fuzzy feeling that comes from making sales to people who love and appreciate you and your business.

A community of people who are happy to have you in their inbox is pretty special. And it’s different from the community you create elsewhere.

Because no matter how great a community you build on social media, it’s not YOURS. You don’t own it. None of us really know when Instagram is suddenly going to start cutting organic reach and pushing to get us all spending on ads – like Facebook did with business pages. And LinkedIn is having a moment right now, but what happens if the algo changes?

THERE’S SOMETHING UNIQUE ABOUT THE MEDIUM OF EMAIL

I have the BEST email chats with the people on my list. And I get to hear about the real challenges that people need help with – things they might not admit to on a public Facebook thread.

But of course, there’s more to it than growing a community and getting to know your audience.

I’m British, so I’m not going to be bragging about how much money I’ve made by sending emails to my own list. No criticism of anyone who’s happy to quote specific figures, but you’re never going to hear me shouting about that kind of thing – it’s just not my style.

But I will say that most of my copywriting projects come in at somewhere between £4,000 and £12,000 – and quite a few of my clients got to know about me and the kind of work I do via my email list. And my absolute favourite clients often come on board from my list – because they already know me, they already understand exactly why they’d want to work with me, and they “get it”.

And when I say they “get it”, If you’ve ever worked with a client who doesn’t really understand what you do, you’ll know exactly what I mean!

What is Email Nurture Academy?

I created Email Nurture Academy back in 2017, around the same time I started niching down into email strategy and copywriting. The first two cohorts of students got great results, but I got super busy with client work and ended up not running it again… until now!

(I’m still super busy with client work – but I very deliberately carved out some time to focus on this program again. Mainly because people who don’t have the budget to hire a copywriter have been asking me for help with their email marketing.)

What that means is…

You get to take my tried and tested course… except you get the updated version, with another 3+ years of email strategy and copywriting expertise thrown in!

It’s a 6-week course, where you’ll take the time to put the right foundations in place so you can get your lead magnet, welcome emails and ongoing email newsletter sorted.

HERE’S HOW YOUR 6 WEEKS IN EMAIL NURTURE ACADEMY WILL LOOK:

In recorded modules I’ll teach you exactly how to create simple, straightforward versions of everything you need to put in place to connect with your audience. I’ll teach you how to build strong relationships with your audience, and also how to sell to them, in a way that feels good, and definitely not over-the-top salesy.

And I’ll give you feedback on what you’ve created as we go along, so you can feel confident about what you’re sending out.

I’ll also keep you accountable with a weekly co-working session to get the work done, and an end-of-week check-in, short teaching session and Q&A.

Before we go deeper on what you’ll get over the course of our 6 weeks together,
here’s a little more about me…

Hi! I’m Liz

I’m a conversion-focused email strategist and copywriter, known for writing email sequences that get great results for my clients. Results like:

An 81% lift in online sales, compared with the same period the year before

A 7% increase in workshop bookings leading to additional conversions, each worth £12k in revenue

A boost in email open rates from 19% to 42%, with a corresponding increase in new clients

I’ve written email copy for brands like Symantec, Veritas, Prezi, Shopify Plus, and Nectar – as well as hundreds of growth-focused small businesses just like yours.

“I’ve got a talented email copywriter to trust”

“Liz delivered fantastic emails ahead of schedule while acting like the pro she is the whole way. I can’t wait to send another difficult job her way.

It’s so great to know I’ve got a talented email copywriter to trust with even the toughest offer and market.

Joanna Wiebe

“The emails boosted online sales by 81% compared with the previous Christmas”

“Liz wrote a 12 Days of Christmas email campaign for me… 24 emails. They were brilliant… seriously awesome! I’ve used copywriters before and have always amended before sending. No need for this with Liz. She just gets it.

She makes you sound even more like you than you can!!! My best friend of over 35 years asked me where I was getting all the time to write the emails… so even she thought I wrote them! The emails boosted online sales by 81% compared with the previous Christmas – and I was pretty happy with that! Give Liz a buzz…”

!

So that’s professional email strategist and conversion copywriter me.

But if I’m going to be walking alongside you for six weeks, helping you plan and write great emails for your business – and holding you accountable to getting it all DONE – you probably want to know a little more about “real-life” me… and the Email Nurture Academy backstory.

A little more about Liz…

I’m a full-time copywriter – running my micro-agency Comma Comma and raising two awesome boys (and two awesome kittens) with my husband Paul, who’s a photographer and videographer.

Before 2020 our favourite things to do were to head for the hills in Wales/the Lake District, and holiday in France. We’re not keen on sitting around, so our current family challenge is a virtual one – walking and cycling 1,083 miles from Lands End to John o’Groats, so far without leaving a five-mile radius of our home. #lockdownlife

We live in Birmingham, England, but I work with clients all over the world – so if you’ve detected the occasional American turn of phrase on this page, well spotted! Despite all the craziness right now, I love the US – the culture and all of my “across the pond” clients and friends.

Working on both sides of the Atlantic means I have a unique perspective on dialling things up and down. I can write in the enthusiastic and more “in yer face” style that’s called for stateside, and I can dial it down for the UK or continental Europe. It means I’m perfectly positioned to help you write in a voice that feels comfortable for you and your audience – and that gets results.

“I can now create regular, personal, interesting and useful emails so my contacts actually want to read them!”

I first ran the Email Nurture Academy back in 2017. Twice. And as I said further up the page, both cohorts got great results. In fact, I’m still on my students’ email lists today, so I know the advice I gave stuck!

Here’s what one of those first students had to say:

“I had no structure or strategy to my emails and felt I was fumbling around in the dark. I had very little confidence in my writing, didn’t know what to write about and as a result, rarely sent them. Time, or lack of it was also one of my excuses but I knew I needed to sort out this part of my business.

I’d previously signed up to Liz’s email campaigns and quickly learnt she totally knew her stuff. Liz has a wonderful way with words and I really wanted to be able to deliver something equally engaging to my clients. When the offer of her nurture academy came up, I jumped at the chance.

I can now create regular, personal, interesting and useful emails so my contacts actually want to read them! I’ve received numerous compliments and already they have led to more business for me.

And I have a fully functioning, automated welcome sequence to introduce myself to all my new contacts. Liz’s approach was perfect for me – very practical, light-hearted but also made me accountable.”

Email Nurture Academy 2021

It’s your time to move email marketing off your to-do list to your “THIS IS DONE” list!

No more trying to figure it all out on your own.

No more endless overthinking but not actually doing.

It’s time to get help.

When you work with me in Email Nurture Academy – and complete all five modules plus live calls – in just six weeks you’ll have everything you need in place to attract clients automatically with email.

You can safely start encouraging people to sign up to your list (something we’ll cover in Week 5), knowing that when they do entrust their email address to you, they’ll get:

N

A fantastic lead magnet – one that’s useful and succinct – and that helps them understand a little more about you and your business or expertise.

N

A short sequence of welcome emails that introduce them to your brand, get across what’s brilliant and unique about you, and set them up to be excited to get more emails from you.

N

Ongoing, regular emails, that you enjoy writing, and they enjoy reading – and that build relationships and help you grow your business (in other words, you get to sell more, in a way that feels good).

Your new approach to email

Until you join me in Email Nurture Academy, I can’t tell you how often you should send an email to your list (the answer is always “it depends”). But I can tell you we’ll talk about what works best, what I recommend for you, and what’s considered “best practice”.

And I’ll also help you work with your own nature to come up with your emailing schedule. Because if you’re even slightly rebellious, there’s no point saying you’ll email your list every Tuesday at 11am. We all know that won’t happen.

That’s why I’ll share different approaches, so you can pick the ones that work best for you. I don’t buy into “one size fits all” strategies. I’ll teach you the quick routes to getting your emails set up, but I’ll also encourage you to think for yourself and write emails that are unique to you.

Templates have their place, and I’ll suggest some outline email sequences you can use – with examples.

Fair warning: This isn’t a “swipe and deploy” style course. We’ll do the foundational work that makes it easy to know what to write. So you’ll have the confidence to write your emails without needing templates.

Writing emails to your list will become a task you look forward to rather than one you keep putting off till “tomorrow”.

And it’ll be something that actually delivers a return on your investment. Because I’ll teach you how to write emails that turn subscribers into customers.

I’ll also work on making sure you get the work done during the 6-week program. By providing accountability.

Everyone says they’ll hold you accountable.
I really will!

I don’t mess about with accountability. It’s been a HUGE part of helping me to grow my business so I know how important it is.

I’m not super keen on blowing my own trumpet.

So I’ve let someone else loose on this section:

“Liz makes me want to be a better business owner”

“I used to think accountability was something other people did. That is, until Liz became my accountability partner. Knowing that she’d be there – every Thursday – to ask me if I’d done what I said I’d do meant I tackled the kind of projects that would have stayed on my to-do list forever. Things like writing my SOPs. Or saying no to bad-fit projects. Or pitching podcasts. Or even just taking time off.

It’s changed my business. And it’s changed me. I’m now a full believer in accountability. With Liz anyway. She’s the most supportive, humble, all-round-awesome and ridiculously talented person ever. And she makes me want to be a better business owner.”

 What does accountability inside the

Email Nurture Academy program look like?

So, what can you expect when it comes to accountability in this program? Here’s what…

9

We’ll be hopping on a live call each week. You won’t want to miss the call – because I’ll be teaching you the latest email strategies and best practices. And I’ll be answering your questions. And I’ll also be asking you what work you’ve done!

9

Missed a call? And not been present in our Slack group either? You can expect a friendly message from me to check how you’re getting on and see if you need help.

9

Coworking sessions. As well as the live weekly call, there’ll be a live Zoom coworking session. Spend 90 minutes getting specific tasks done – and if you need help you can hop into a breakout room with me and get my input.

9

I’ll expect to be able to sign up to your list by the end of the program, so I can see what you’re sending out. If I can’t do that, you’ll need a good excuse!

9

Help and support in our Slack community. I’ll answer your questions and you’ll be able to see my answers to other people – plus we’ll have a weekly round-up thread where people can share what they’ve achieved each week. Sometimes seeing other people get things done is all the encouragement you need. If you’ve never used Slack, don’t panic. There’ll be a short “How to use Slack” video in Week 1.

Ready to make more sales and win new customers, even with a tiny (or non-existent) list?

Here’s how you know that Email Nurture Academy is right for you:

Just like walking up Ben Nevis (or any other mountain) feels like a great day out for some and a really bad idea for others, this program isn’t for everyone.

This is going to help you create an approach that feels right for you and your business and set you up to GROW – not just in 2021 but over the entire decade. Because you’ll have the right foundations in place PLUS the skills you need to keep evolving what you’re doing, whatever life throws at you.

I’ve created this for you if you’re:

A specialist or service provider who wants to stop neglecting your list and start sending emails your subscribers can’t wait to open. And emails that convince more of them to come on board and work with you. In a way that feels good and not super salesy.

A product biz founder who’s ready to get all of your ducks in a row and create a solid email strategy that’s more than just endless 10% off emails. You want to get into a rhythm of sending emails that build brand affinity and make people LOVE you as well as buy from you.

k

A copywriter or marketer who KNOWS all this stuff but, er, you’re still not actually emailing your list consistently. And you’re certainly not selling to them. Get clear on what you stand for so you can attract the coolest subscribers, consistently email them, and convert them to clients.

A coach who has zero clue how to stand out in a world full of coaches who all seem to be working from the same email templates. We’ll get clear on who you are, why you’re different, and what you need to write to attract YOUR people.

Who this program is NOT for

My small group training isn’t for you if:

M

You’re looking for a quick fix or a business-saving miracle – this is about putting the right email foundations in place for relationship-building and ongoing growth, not making megabucks overnight

M

You need A LOT of technical help with your email platform. I can definitely give you pointers in our Q&A sessions – and there’ll be an option to get (paid) support from my virtual assistant – but we’ll mainly be focusing on copywriting, not tech.

M

You don’t have time to fully engage with the program. This is 6 weeks of learning, accountability and support to help you get your lead magnet, welcome sequence and ongoing emails set up – you have to show up and do the work to get results!

Still here? Then it looks like Email Nurture Academy is a good fit for you!

Anne has gone from struggling to write emails to her list, to enthusiastically emailing every week (at least) and always getting responses.

“At the beginning of the program, my goal was to send 1 email a week to my list. Now, I’m actually eager to send daily emails! I have received responses from people on my list to every email I’ve sent out since starting the program which is a sign that my engagement with my audience is improving. A response I received recently from one of my subscribers made me realise how important my voice (and emails) are to my audience. (Thanks, Liz.)”

Frequently Asked Questions

What time will the live calls and coworking sessions be?

We’ll figure that out once everyone’s on board. I’m based in the UK, so the timings will definitely suit anyone in the UK and Europe. If you’re based in the US, I’ll aim to make the timings work for you too.

In Australia? I’m going to be upfront and say that the call times probably won’t work for you. Unless you’re an early riser! 😃

What happens if I miss a call?

The live calls will be recorded, so you can easily catch up with any calls you miss.

How much time do I need for this program?

In an ideal world you’d be able to carve out 3-4 hours each week to work on this course. BUT, for everything we’re working on, I’ll give you a “minimum viable” version. So if you only have 2-3 hours each week, you can still get everything done.

Will we get loads of templates and swipe files?

Nope! This is about teaching you how to write emails yourself – how to generate your own ideas, how to use tried and tested copywriting formulas (these are more frameworks/guidelines than templates), how to balance selling with building relationships. I’ll give you examples, but not templates.

What if my branding needs work?

We’ll talk about that in the program. There’s a fine line between “I can’t send an email because my branding isn’t right” and “I’m being a perfectionist and I just need to send an email”. I’ll help you figure out which side of the line you’re on – it’s almost always the perfectionist side.

What if I struggle with the tech side of things?

This isn’t a technical course, but I can give you pointers on which platforms are most straightforward, and where you can access help with specific platforms. And if most people need help with this, I’ll bring someone in to give a guest session on getting your lead magnet and welcome emails set up.

I’ll also give you the option to have my virtual assistant set up your lead magnet and welcome emails – for an additional cost.

What happens if I don’t finish everything during the 6 weeks?

The entire purpose of this program is to make sure you DO finish everything during the 6 weeks. I’ve even built in an implementation week where there’s no additional learning – so you get the chance to catch up (or get ahead) with writing emails.

And you have the added incentive of knowing that you can only get my feedback during the program itself. That’s deliberate, to motivate you to GET IT DONE! Plus I have accountability superpowers – see Sophia’s comments above.

But, sometimes life gets in the way and if things don’t go to plan, there’s no need to worry. You’ll still have access to the video modules and recorded live calls for as long as I’m running the program (till at least the end of 2021).

Can you guarantee I'll get new customers?

I can’t give you any guarantees. There are so many different factors involved. But assuming your product or service is sound, and there are people who want to buy it from you, then if you do the work and follow the program you should see results.

At this point, since you’re still reading, you’re probably wondering how much you’ll need to invest to join Email Nurture Academy

Considering you get:

* Five modules of recorded training

* Weekly live training and Q&A, plus

* My eyes on your work, and my feedback throughout the course

* Plus six weeks of accountability to help you GET IT DONE

It’s probably not as much as you might think.

You can join Email Nurture Academy today for just £699.

Or 3 monthly payments of £233.

If you’d like to pay in USD, pay $999 or 3 monthly payments of $333

Depending on where you’re at in your business, that could be a drop in the ocean, or a significant amount.

But if you can go from not having a clue what to write,

Or not knowing how to juggle selling and relationship-building in a way that doesn’t feel pushy or over-the-top salesy…

To finally feeling good about your email marketing, especially as you watch your emails automatically bringing in customers…

Then it’s highly likely you’ll see an excellent return on your investment.

What happens if you go for it?

Pay in full today and you’ll secure your place.

I’m only taking up to 24 people into this round of the programme, to keep it small and intimate – and to make sure I have time to give everyone feedback on their lead magnet and emails.

DOORS CLOSE ON TUESDAY 16TH FEBRUARY AT 10PM GMT

Accountability

Accountability throughout the program. I’m friendly but also quite determined – because I want you to get results!

Now, or later?

People who run courses often say they don’t know whether they’ll run their course again. That, my friend, is a “scarcity” tactic, and sometimes it’s true, but often it isn’t. It’s the kind of tactic I avoid, because being ethical and truthful is important to me.

So I’m not going to say that I won’t run this again. I DO hope to run Email Nurture Academy again later in the year. BUT, there’s a lot going on so far this decade, to put it mildly. Which makes me feel compelled to tell you that if you’re keen to do this, but you’re not 100% sure that now’s the right time – I’d be inclined to go for it.

Much like guesting on podcasts, redoing your website, or pitching to speak on stage at industry conferences (remember real life conferences?!) getting your email marketing sorted is something that might never rise to the top of your “to do” list unless you actively prioritise it.

It’s one of those important but not necessarily urgent tasks. And all I’m going to say at this point, is that I wish I’d started sending emails to my list sooner. Because they are so effective at bringing me clients. And not just any old clients. Clients that are easy and straightforward to work with. Because they know me, they understand how I work, they like me and they trust me.

The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time is now.

Jeremy wanted to build stronger relationships with his list, but couldn’t find the time and didn’t have anyone to hold him accountable. Since Email Nurture Academy, he has pulled together a content calendar, written a welcome sequence for each of his product lines, and has finally started emailing his list.

“We even have content lined up weeks in advance. This has never happened before and certainly wouldn’t have been possible without Liz’s help.”
